Comfortable and spacious, Villa Pompea with swimming pool is a mansion created from a careful restoration of an old rural farmhouse from the early 17th century restored to its original splendor, maintaining its original spirit.
The property is located in the ancient Ottaviano valley, between Matino and Casarano, which gives its name to the entire district located just 5 minutes from the beaches of Gallipoli. The villa is away from the chaos but close to services; just 5 minutes by car you can reach the historic center of Casarano of particular interest where you can see the decorations of the most famous local stone, the carparo, of which the Villa Pompea is enriched.
Walking along a long avenue of palm trees you can see the prospect of the imposing noble villa, surrounded by rich vegetation, 11 hectares of Mediterranean scrub among centuries-old olive trees and maritime pine. Looking up, a graceful bell tower stands out which houses a bell made in the oldest Italian and world foundry, Pontificia Fonderia Marinelli. Characteristic is the presence of a votive chapel, entirely renovated, which in the 1940s represented a place of worship and prayer among the noble owners and peasants.
The villa houses 2 comfortable and independent apartments, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor. In this announcement it is possible to book the ground floor, while the first floor can be booked with a subsequent request, if available.
On the ground floor, a long corridor leads to the 2 bedrooms complete with desk, a dining room with vaulted ceilings and TV, an equipped kitchen, complete with dishwasher; a bathroom with shower and washing machine; an equipped porch for lunch or dinner outdoors.
A staircase with white walls and a ceiling in Salento tuff leads to the first floor, independent and air-conditioned, consisting of a large living room with wooden furnishings and a sumptuous fireplace carved in carparo, typical of the Lecce baroque, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms.
In this setting, Villa Pompea invites its guests to relax by the pool, to enjoy a dinner on its spacious terraces or large spaces, to enjoy an aperitif at sunset. In common for all guests there is a tennis court with synthetic grass and lighting that can also be used as a soccer field.
A basket of fresh fruit from the estate is made available to guests as well as a taste of the oil of its own production. Garden products and fresh eggs to request are available as optional services.
Recommended for families and groups of friends. We do not accept pets. Parking inside the property.
Bed linen and towels are available (one change is included, for more there is a supplement), air conditioning and wi-fi.

Some info about the pool: minimum depth of 1 meter, maximum depth of 1.40 meters. As for access, there are both a stepladder and a ladder on opposite sides, as can be seen from the photographs. The swimming pool is approximately 6m wide and 10m long. There are no limits to the times of use.
